Geodesiq aims develop innovations that catalyze sustainable insight-sharing, resilience-building, and climate-smart development, risk management, and investment. We support projects and publications that manage or inform such efforts.
Active Value Trust Ratings
The Active Value Trust Rating system (AVTR) is intended to serve as the consumer-side equivalent of the credit rating system banks use to judge whether a person should have access to financial services, and at what cost. The AVTR system is designed to provide policy-makers, regulators, investors, consumers, and the rated institutions themselves, with more reliable information about projected future investment quality (FIQ), to build a reliably productive business model attuned to future value-building opportunities.
The Climate Value Exchange
The Climate Value Exchange is a nonprofit coalition effort focused on cooperative innovation to reduce climate risk, build resilience, and support sustainable shared prosperity. The Exchange is rooted in Article 6, paragraph 8 of the Paris Agreement, which calls for multilateral cooperation to accelerate overall progress toward climate-resilient development. Multilateral cooperative agreements, cooperative financing platforms, and open insight-sharing are all part of the Climate Value vision for a livable future.
Geodesiq provides technical support to projects linked to the Climate Value Exchange, including Earth Civics—a nonprofit initiative inspired, in part, by the Artemis II mission around the Moon, which reinvigorated public interest in understanding Earth as a planetary system.
Geodesiq Advisory Services
Geodesiq supports partnerships and initiatives that advance climate-related innovation and resilience. We also provide advisory services for institutions with an interest in developing customized, locally rooted climate risk reduction and resilience strategies. Advisory services are available for small businesses, municipalities, foundations, universities, and other institutions intersested in avoiding major climate risk and cost.
Liberate Systems
Liberate Systems is a partnership initiative specializing in transformational systems innovation, across sectors. We should not be handing over our personal and collective wealth to accelerate the destruction of our environment and wellbeing, so we work to liberate industrial, energy, financial, and information systems from reliance on society or natural systems to pay for pollution or resulting harm.
The Navigator
The least understood detail of the sustainability revolution is the fact that the actions that will help secure a livable future for those many future generations are also the best way for us to live well, free, and safely, today. We need honest research, access to evidence, thoughtful analysis of what is at stake, and institutions that are comfortable with complexity. The Navigator covers climate, democracy, science, innovation, and the surprising intersections between geopolitics and local experience.
The Networked Earth System Science Initiative
As the formal federal commitment to maintain always-on multidimensional Earth system observational science capabilities is eroded—by policy setbacks and funding cuts, by reduced staffing and possible deactivation of satellite systems—there is an overriding public interest in the establishment of a networked Earth system science initiative (NESSI).
The Resilience Intelligence Fund
The Resilience Intelligence Fund is a cooperative thesis-driven fund providing seed capital and operational funding for initiatives that develop and deliver resilience insights to end users throughout the everyday economy. Over ten years, the Fund aims to commit $200 million to incubation efforts, to attract public and private capital, with support from philanthropic and multilateral grants.
